Communities Foundation of Oklahoma Nursing Scholarship Accelerated Master of Science in Education

The Communities Foundation of Oklahoma Nursing Scholarship Fund was established for the purpose of providing financial aid for students at the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing who are entering the Accelerated Master of Science in Education Pathway program and are dedicated to working in an Oklahoma nursing education program.

This grant under the leadership of Patricia Forni, PhD, RN, FAAN is to prepare nurse educators to teach in Oklahoma nursing programs.  Two program options are offered.

Under one option the 32 credit hour graduate Education Pathway will be offered over a 12 month period. Students enter the program September 1 of one year and complete the program August 31 of the following year. The grant provides for a sizable stipend of $10,000 and full tuition and fees.

The other program option is for individuals who already possess a master’s degree in nursing in a field other than education.  This option is for a post-master’s certificate in nursing education and requires 11 credit hours in three courses offered January-February, June and July-August.  The award for this option covers full tuition and fees and a stipend of $3000.
