Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Case Manager?

A Case Manager is a professional with specialized knowledge and expertise in managing healthcare needs and services for seniors and persons with disabilities. Our Case Managers are individuals who work with your family to evaluate your situation, identify solutions, and work with you to design a plan for maximizing your loved one’s health, safety, independence and quality of life.

I’ve heard the term Care Manager, is it the same thing as a Case Manager?

Yes. Sometimes Care Managers are also called case managers, geriatric care managers, elder care managers, service coordinators or care coordinators.

Will my private insurance pay for your services?

Call your medical and long term care insurance provider(s) directly to investigate further. Most of our private case management clients pay out-of-pocket for our services.

You may qualify for our Advantage program. Please contact us to discuss further.

Will Medicare pay for your services?

Medicare does not reimburse for our private Case Management services.

What will a Case Manager provide that I or my family cannot?

Case Mangers are hired to help you decrease the stress associated with caring for an aging or disabled loved one. A professional Case Manager becomes your partner in caring for your loved one. Case Managers can be hired to provide one specific service (i.e., conducting a home safety assessment or providing a list of reputable nursing homes) or they can oversee and manage all of your loved one’s health and well-being needs.

What are your fees?

Our fees vary based on your needs. We provide a list of options to help you pay for the services needed. Please call us to discuss your options.

A Case Manager is a healthcare professional with specialized expertise and training in caring for seniors and persons with disabilities. Many Case Managers have  advanced degrees in social work, gerontology, nursing, psychology, or a related health and human services field.
